Calico Critters

Calico Critters

Calico Critters are tiny, posable, and adorable doll figures. These highly collectible doll figures combine kids' natural love of animals with their endless imaginative play abilities. Originally marketed in Japan and the US as Sylvanian Families in 1985, International Playthings re-released these highly collectible figures as the Calico Critters line in 1993. Calico Critters are sold in family sets, each representing a different animal (Slydale Fox, Marmalade Bear, Lambrook Sheep, and others). A set of baby twins that belongs with the family is sold separately. There are also houses, furniture, and various shops and village places that belong to the imaginary Cloverleaf Corners, home of the Calico Critters. The play value in these small creatures is much more than their small stature would suggest! Calico Critters are all covered with a soft plush material, have heads that turn, and jointed arms and legs, so they can be placed in all sorts of scenes and situations. Their clothing is all interchangeable and all based on the same provincial country theme that characterizes Calico Critters.
