Jigsaw Puzzles

Jigsaw puzzles blend art with play. The simplest jigsaws can be assembled by small children in one sitting. More complicated puzzles for older children and adults become projects that can be completed in multiple sessions. Completion of a jigsaw puzzle requires reasoning, deduction, analysis, sequencing, problem solving, eye-hand coordination, and spatial awareness. But we do puzzles because they are so satisfying! Probably because they require using so many different skills, the completion of a puzzle is highly satisfying. At the end of all that work is a beautiful picture!
