After all these years, Slinky still walks down stairs and still has that wonderfully satisfrying feeling and sound as you clink it back and forth from one hand to another. When Richard James as experimenting with tension springs in 1945, one fell to the floor and began to "walk". He took it home to his wife to ask her opinion on turning this into a toy, and the Slinky was born! Slinky is still Made in the USA.
